Born and raised in Edmonton, Christopher Luchak graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Biological Sciences, before going on to complete his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Alberta in 2005. While in university, he worked extensively with Student Legal Services and worked as a Criminal Law Project Coordinator. Christopher was admitted to the Bar in 2006.
Since then, Christopher has practiced exclusively in Criminal Law for over 10 years, running numerous trials as both a defence lawyer and as a Crown Prosecutor in Provincial Court and Court of Queen’s Bench throughout Alberta, as well as in Provincial Court in British Columbia. He has also conducted several appeals of alcohol and/or drug administrative license suspensions before the Transportation Safety Board as well as student disciplinary hearings before the Edmonton Public School Board. Having worked as a Crown Prosecutor with Alberta Justice, Christopher has an intimate inside knowledge of how prosecutors use their discretion and is skilled in identifying the inherent weaknesses in the Crown’s case.
