Izabella Sulikowski is a Barrister and Solicitor at Capital City Law, where she maintains a practice focused on family law, immigration and refugee matters, wills and estates, and real estate transactions. She regularly assists clients navigating divorce, parenting and support disputes, emergency protection and restraining orders, and the negotiation of domestic agreements. Izabella also represents clients in immigration and refugee matters, including Federal Court litigation, and provides guidance on wills and estates planning. Izabella is fluent in Polish and English, and happy to provide services in both languages.
Izabella completed her undergraduate studies in Political Science at the University of Alberta in 2016, including a year abroad at the prestigious Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in Munich, Germany. She earned her law degree with honours from the University of York in the United Kingdom, completed her National Committee on Accreditation exams in early 2022, and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2023.
Izabella is a client-centred and solutions-focused advocate. Her approach is grounded in identifying her clients’ practical goals and charting the most effective path toward resolution, whether through negotiation, alternative dispute processes, or litigation where necessary. She is committed to ensuring clients understand their rights, options, and the legal process at every step.
A daughter of Polish immigrants who fled communism, Izabella brings a deep appreciation for access to justice for families and individuals facing uncertain circumstances. Before being called to the bar, she was a legal research student with Capital City Law, and has remained with the firm since beginning her legal career.
Outside of practice, Izabella is a former competitive figure skater and remains passionate about athletics and travel.
